Program and events

Spirit of Innovation in business, culture and science

Sweden invites you to visit the Swedish pavilion at World Expo Shanghai 2010. The Swedish program will also feature activities on the stages of the Expo area as well as in Shanghai city center.

Spirit of Innovation is the theme for the national program and reflects our three keywords – sustainability, innovation and communication. The Swedish groundbreaking ceremony featured dancing diggers to add a new artistic twist to a traditional ceremony.

The National Committee coordinating Swedish’s participation at World Expo 2010 offers a diverse array of program activities in close cooperation with all Swedish partners. A wide range of meetings will be held to deepen and expand Swedish-Chinese relations. These will include research exchanges, business facilitation meetings, and workshops on a variety of social issues. The program will also highlight innovative culture.

We share an ambition to achieve lasting relations with China, increase awareness about Sweden and encourage continued interchange between the countries. Program activities aim to stimulate dialog, underline the historical ties between Sweden and China, strengthen Sweden’s image, and showcase the sustainable and innovative society that is modern-day Sweden.
